I have waited for this one to come out with butterfly's! I knew she was gonna be a special kinda vamp and my mind was running wild with just what J.L. Was gonna do to make her still be Skye but more kick a$$ due to the vampiness. I was not disappointed. There were some rough spots where I felt were a little fake, but it could be the way she calls people sweetie or baby or whatever that term is. It just makes me feel like some old man that hates his "old woman" is saying "yes,dear" like she is an idiot just to get her to shit her pie hole. With that being the ONLY thing it a whole book for me to harp on, I would say it was a dang fine job! Oh and those boys-YUMMY!!!Product details

I have been waiting for this book and it didn't disappoint!! I was shocked at what befalls Skye but J.L. knows what she is doing! I found myself crying with Jamison's pain and laughing at Skye's sense of humor. I know that The Faithful feel their plans for Amun are foolproof but I can't help but feel it's not over yet.
This was a long journey for our author here. Her first book was ... well... not good. And here we are at Book 4 and I can say it feels like night and day. First, the fight scenes in this book were well crafted and technically descriptive. I loved every fight scene -- the author hit it every time. I don't think I can say that some of the things you'll see in this book are brand new (think the Huntress series), but it is well written so you can probably ignore any similarities you see with the Huntress. The author keeps it fast paced and you simply do not want to put the book down.
I did find Syke's explanation for dumping Jameson extremely trite .. and believe the author could have done a better job trying to redeem Skye for the readers ... but such weaknesses to the storyline are not fatal.
The only other problem I see for future series is that our author has made Ms. Morrison "more than." The next step can only be for her to turn into a goddess like Diana the Huntress. What's next if you don't have anything to build on and you already have what it takes to kick butt AND chew bubble gum?
I liked the first two books best, without Jamison I felt something was missing. I hope he gets a spin off next. I also didn't like the fact that she was way too sassy coming into a world she didn't know, I found myself telling her to shut up a lot!! But the humor as usual had me laughing out loud. I find myself mad at her for this ending, that's how I know it's a good book. Like they say....bad guys always finish last.
If you have not read any of The Skye Morrison Vampire Series books you need to start now! There is wonderful and great characters and a loving and caring character that I love so much. Poor Skye is giving a hand she had no control over, now she has to try and save her family and friends before Amun kills her family and friends or join him. I couldn't put my iPad down until I was done with the book. It was a wonderful book and can't wait for more)
The Skye Morrison series is SO unbelievable! Book 4 has been such a breath of fresh air to this series mostly due to the relationships between Skye and her 'family', but especially Archer. I am 100% Team Archer but I found myself really feeling the emotions of Jameson's pain and just wanted him to be ok. Skye's struggle with and finally acceptance of being good enough and shutting the door to the past was a great moment in the storyline. I, along with so many McCoy fans, will be eagerly awaiting book 5. Even though it will be sad to see the series end.
I LOVE this series! I have laughed, cried, yelled, and felt just about every other emotion while reading this series so far. I would recommend this series to anyone who likes stories about Vampires and a good story line. Starting book 5 and I'm trying to pace myself but, J.L. McCoy is a TALENTED writer and I can't seem to stop reading! Keep up the AMAZING writing J.L. McCoy! Looking forward to reading books 5 and 5.5 and then will patiently wait for book 6 to come out!

J.L. McCoy is a new writer, that shows great writing ability... Love all of the Skye Morrison Series... I've read and have all four on my kindle Fire. I think Skye and Archer will get married in the next book??? I feel bad for James though. Their's always excitement at every page u turn on to the ending, waiting for the next book.... I don't want to give anything away for anyone who hasn't read this series yet, but, I hated that some of her friends were killed, I just won't say who they were?? You have to read to find out???
